Search Tips

Quick Search by Categories:

Our picture categorization method is unique. To save time, click on any subject or category listed on the horizontal Responsive Navigation Bar, which appears on every page of our website.

Search Using Keywords or Picture IDs:

  • You can search using both singular and plural forms of words, and the system will match both.

  • Use the "-ing" form of action words (e.g., “smiling” instead of “smile”).

  • If you enter multiple words, the system will attempt to match all of them.

  • When searching by Picture ID, avoid using the number sign (#).

  • Be careful about spelling errors or typos in your keywords.

  • Do not include punctuation marks like commas, hyphens, or quotation marks.

Refining Your Search with 'Search Within Results':

Once you find an image, you can refine your search further using the "Search Within Results" feature at the top of the page. For example, if you search for "woman and laptop," but get too many results of people working in groups, you can type "1 person only" to narrow it down to a single woman using a laptop.

Searching Similar Pictures with Multiple Keywords:

On the Picture Details page (after clicking a thumbnail), you’ll find a list of keywords and categories related to that image. You can select relevant keywords by checking the boxes, and then search again to view similar pictures within that category.

Using Advanced Search Options:

Refine your search further using advanced filters such as orientation, picture attributes, and the people featured in the pictures.
